August 14, 2019 - 12:51 pm

PONTIAC (WWJ) - A 45-year-old Pontiac man has been arrested and charged with possessing and distributing child pornography.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit (CCU), Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) in Livonia on Wednesday announced the case again James Arthur Suzor, a convicted sex offender.

The investigation began earlier last month, police said, when the task force became aware that Suzor has been sharing child sexually abusive material online. Further investigation and the execution of a search warrant at this home led to his arrest.

Michigan Department of Corrections records show Suzor has prior convictions for first and third degree criminal sexual conduct in Oakland County, for crimes dating back to 1999.

He was arraigned in 50th District Court last Thursday on two counts of aggravated distributing of child sexually abusive material, one count of using a computer to commit a crime, and one count of possession of child sexually abusive material.

Suzor is being held on a $250,000 cash bond.

In light of this case and others like it, the police encourage parents and guardians to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provides many resources for parents to assist them in keeping kids safe online. Check it out at this link
