LaPort, IN (WWJ) - A Michigan woman escaped serious injury after an object was thrown from an overpass - hitting her after smashing through her windshield.

Police say 64-year-old Susan Brown of Edwardsburg was driving along a northwestern Indiana toll road when someone tossed a pumpkin from the overpass, directly striking her car.

The pumpkin smashed through the driver's windshield and Brown lost control of the car and drove into a ditch. She suffered minor injuries.

It's not the first time this has happened, police say someone tossed an object from the same overpass earlier this month.
