Most Dangerous States For Driving In Snow: Michigan Particularly Deadly

DETROIT (WWJ) - When it comes to winter driving, Michigan residents have it pretty bad. 

Security website Safewise.com has ranked Michigan as one of the worst states for driving in the snow.

Based on federal data from 2016, Michigan had the highest number of snow-related crashes with 59 incidents, resulting in 72 fatalities. The next closest state was Minnesota, with just 21 crashes.

The website reminds drivers to clear ice and snow from the car's windows, make sure the tires, wipers and lights are in working order and driver slower speeds to stop and corner safely.
