TROY (WWJ) - A 29-year-old woman, wanted in Detroit on a felony warrant, is in custody on multiple charges in Troy.

Troy police officers spotted Alexis Smith last Saturday night, in the parking area of the Shell gas station at John R and Big Beaver Road. The Clinton Township woman was arguing with another driver, police said, after the two had apparently been involved in a "road rage" dispute nearby.

Police said Smith, who smelled of alcohol, seemed to be trying to hid her purse from officers -- and when asked she admitted that she'd had a couple of drinks. After failing a series of sobriety tests, she submitted to a preliminary breath test that registered a .061 percent BAC.

Searching the woman's vehicle -- a 2012 black Audi A7 -- officers allegedly found other peoples' credit cards, several of them, and an open container of alcohol on the front passenger seat.  A cup was also located in the center console that contained a liquid that smelled of alcohol, police said.

Reports said the woman also had two young children in the car.

Smith was arrested and taken to the Troy Lock-up Facility where a further search of her bag uncovered a vape pen that contained suspected marijuana liquid as well as suspected marijuana edible candy. A field test of the vape liquid found the presence of marijuana, police said. Also allegedly found in Smith's purse were several additional IDs not in her name.

It was later determined that Smith had a felony warrant out of Detroit and is on the “Detroit’s Most Wanted” list.

In Troy she is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol, Transporting an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana, Hinder and Obstruction of a Police Officer, and Identity Theft. No details about her alleged crime in Detroit were immediately released.
