Murder Suspect At Large After Shooting On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a suspect who shot and killed a man during a dispute on the city's east side.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of East Street, just west of I-75 and East Grand Boulevard. 

According to police, the suspect got into an argument with the 23-year-old victim, during which he pulled out a gun a fired shots. The victim exchanged gunshots with the suspect, who then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim, who was struck at least once, was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

It doesn't appear that the suspect, who remains at large, was struck by the return gunfire. 

Police have released a photo of the suspect, but did not provide a description or his name.
