REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Two people are in custody and a third is hospitalized after a shooting in Redford Township.

Police Thursday afternoon released more information about the incident, as investigators are still working out what exactly happened at a home on Salem Street, near Schoolcraft and Telegraph Rd.

According to investigators, at around 5 a.m. a suspect involved in a dispute with someone in the home threw a brick through the front window.

In a panic, a man in the home ran to a room in the back. Mistakenly thinking it was a home invasion, a man in that room fired a gun, shooting the other resident in the face.

The man who fired the shot is in custody, police said, although it's not yet clear if he will face charges. The person who allegedly threw the brick was also arrested, police said.

The wounded man was listed in stable condition.

Police are still speaking with witnesses as the investigation continues. No names were released.
