WESTLAND (WWJ) - Known to be deserted these days, Sears may seem like a good place to get away with some crime.

Unless, of course, you're caught on camera.

Westland police are asking for help to identify two men suspected of stealing jewelry from the Sears store in Westland Mall on February 3.

Police said both suspects were seen on store surveillance footage at the jewelry counter on multiple occasions. Eventually, police said, both were observed reaching behind the counter and defeating the locking system for the display cases, then placing merchandise into their pockets before leaving the store.

Suspect number one is described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, 5'8'' to 5'10'' inches tall and weighing 180 to 200 lbs. He was wearing a Michigan State University hooded sweatshirt, jeans and baseball hat; possibly partially camouflage print.

Suspect number two was also a white male, around 30 to 40 years old, 6' to 6'2'' tall and 150 to 180 lbs. He was wearing jeans and a dark colored coat.

Anyone who can identify the suspects, seen in video released by police, or who has any information regarding this crime is asked to call Det. Gazdecki at 734-467-3250.
