DETROIT (WWJ) - One of Detroit's most iconic coney island restaurants turned into a battleground after a customer was asked to leave, sparking a melee that ended with broken glass in the chili and four people under arrest.

The incident unfolded just before noon Friday at Lafayette Coney Island when a man was reportedly refused service and asked to leave.

After exiting the restaurant, the man allegedly picked up an object and broke a front window facing the area where the hot dogs are grilled. As broken glass mixed in with the chili, mustard and onions, three employees rushed outside and reportedly attacked the man before police arrived at the scene.

The man was taken the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and arrested.

The three employees were also arrested by Detroit Police.

The incident remains under investigation.
