Assault Rifle Stolen During Home Invasion In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for three suspects in connection with a home invasion on Detroit's west side in which a handgun and assault rifle were stolen. 

The incident happened just before noon on Monday, Dec. 23 in the 12000 block of Mettetal Street, in a neighborhood off I-96 between the Southfield Freeway and Greenfield Road.

Police say the suspects broke in through the rear of the home. A surveillance system captured the suspects walking throughout the residence, damaging property and ultimately taking a handgun and assault rifle.

The suspects fled the location on foot.

The first suspect is described as a male wearing an all-black Adidas jogging suit with white stripes on the side, a black hooded sweater, black mask, black shoes and gloves.

The second suspect is described as a male wearing all black with a white hooded sweater and gloves.

The third suspect is described as a male wearing blue pants, a black and gray puffy jacket, white hooded sweater and black shoes.
