WATCH LIVE: Bernie Sanders Holds Coronavirus Town Hall In Metro Detroit

(WWJ) Sen. Bernie Sanders will hold a roundtable with public health experts and leaders in Romulus today discuss the global coronavirus, COVID-19, outbreak and what we must do to address it.

The Democratic presidental candidate will be joined by medical professionals and national and state public health leaders, including National Nurses United (NNU) President Deborah Burger, RN; former Special Assistant, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Chemical and Biological Defense Programs at the Department of Defense Greg Whitten; Director of the Yale Center for Infectious Disease Modeling and Analysis (CIDMA), and Burnett and Stender Families Professor of Epidemiology (Microbial Diseases) Dr. Alison Galvani; physician, epidemiologist, public health expert, and former health commissioner for the City of Detroit Dr. Abdul El-Sayed; and board-certified Family Medicine physician and health care advocate Dr. Victoria Dooley.

While the event is invitation-only, the public will be able to watch via a live stream (video above). It's set to begin at 3:15 p.m. Monday, at the Westin Hotel at Detroit Metro Airport. 

Sanders — whose weekend swing  included a Town Hall on Racial and Economic Justice in Flint as well as rallies in Detroit, Dearborn, Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor — then will take part in a Fox News town hall set for 6:30 p.m. at the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus. 

As Michigan is the largest state voting on March 10 and considered key in the primary election, both Sanders and his rival, his rival Joe Biden are in the state today

The former Vice President will rally in Grand Rapids Monday afternoon, then attending a private fundraiser in Detroig before share a stage with Senator Kamala Harris at Renaissance High School at 7 p.m.
