(WWJ) Bloomfield Township police have launched an investigation into a possible fake police officer pulling over drivers.

Police were called to the area of Walnut Lake Road and Kenmoor Monday night after a woman reported she heard a siren and saw an older model Chevy Tahoe with red and blue lights on, but no other markings.

The woman's son then went for a walk and saw the Tahoe stopped on the side of Walnut Lake Road, with red and blue lights flashing.

Two subjects were seen standing near the Tahoe, police said.

One of them, who was blocking the license plate from view, was described as a Middle Eastern man, 20-25 years old and 5’11” tall with a medium build, shaggy light brown hair with a full stubble beard.

The second one was also a male, 25-30 years old, 6’0” tall with a thin build, a mole on his right cheek and short dirty blonde hair. He was wearing black Adidas long pants, green Nike t-shirt and gym shoes and was speaking with the female driver of a Mercedes that had been pulled over.

The witnesses told police they did not see any badges, body armor or weapons.

Police are asking for tips from the public in this case.

Anyone who may have seen something suspicious should call the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
