Body Found Shot, Bound And Burned On Detroit's West Side

A suspect was seen fleeing the area in a minivan.

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are searching for a killer after a body was found shot, bound and burned on Detroit's west side.

Police were called to the area of Westbrook and Outer Drive in the Brightmoor neighborhood around 4 a.m. Wednesday after concerned neighbors heard several gunshots.

Police say the victim was found lying on Westbrook with gunshot wounds, their legs tied up and set on fire. The victim is believed to be a male, but the body was too heavily burned to determine at the scene, police said. Several shell casings were found near the body, according to a report from Fox 2 Detroit.

Police say a suspect was seen fleeing the area in a light colored minivan south on Outer Drive. The suspect is described only as a black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
