Construction Worker Run Over While Working On New Aldi In Sterling Heights

The victim was listed in serious but stable condition.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WWJ) -- A construction worker is hospitalized after being hit by a co-worker while working at the site of a new grocery store in Sterling Heights.

Police say a 62-year-old man from Owossow was looking into a man hole in the parking lot when another construction worker backed his vehicle into the man. The crew was working on the construction of a new Aldi on Van Dyke, north of 14 Mile Road. 

The injured man was taken to Beaumont Royal Oak Hospital with injuries to his head and torso. The man was listed in stable but serious condition.

Sterling Heights police say they are still investigating the incident.
