Adrian Police Deputy Chief Laurence R. VanAlstine, III said officers arrived to find several people gathered at the home, including one person who'd been shot.

VanAlstine said investigators then learned that two more shooting victims had already been taken to a local hospital.

Witnesses told police that they had been attending a small party when an unknown person or persons fired shots at the house from the outside, striking the three victims.

Two of them were transferred to Toledo Hospital for further care, while the third was treated at Bixby Hospital in Adrian.

VanAlstine said the condition of the three people is unknown at this time.

As the investigation continues, a motive for the shooting is unclear and no suspects have been described.

VanAlstine said detectives recovered evidence at the scene leading them to believe there was more than one shooter.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Adrian Police Det. Sgt. Lamar Rufner at 517-264-4808.
