ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - A 39-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after Royal Oak police say she crashed into a parked car while under the influence of drugs.

The suspect, identified as a Royal Oak resident, was arrested last Friday after police responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the 600 block of N. Alexander.

A witness told officers that, at around 2:30 p.m., a driver hit a parked vehicle and then fled the area. No injuries were reported.

The witness described the suspect, and officers found her parked in a parking lot near 11 Mile Rd. and Campbell.

The driver, who police said appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, allegedly admitted to hitting the car. She was then found to be in possession of crack cocaine and narcotics paraphernalia, according to investigators.

The woman was taken into custody on charges of Possession of Crack Cocaine, Operating While Impaired, Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia, Hit and Run and a misdemeanor warrant from another jurisdiction.

Her name was not immediately released.
