Possible Kidnapping Investigation Leads To Deadly Crash In Detroit

(WWJ) Detroit Police say reports of a possible armed kidnapping of a woman eventually lead to a deadly car accident.

Police say officers received a report of the possible kidnapping by a man known to the victim on Dale Street near Telegraph and Davison around 1:15 Friday afternoon. Witnesses described the suspect’s vehicle as a white Chrysler 3000.

Another officer saw the vehicle matching the description on West Outer Drive near Plymouth, speeding. The car then blew through a red light and crashed into a white 2000 Honda Odyssey, according to Detroit Police. 

The man driving the Odyssey, 48, died of his injuries at a nearby hospital.

The woman driving the Chrysler 300, 19, and another man in the car, 21, were taken into custody. A girl, 15, and man, 33, were also in the car. All four of them were hurt but are expected to fully recover.
