(WWJ) -- Drivers are urged to use extra caution on the roads across southeast Michigan Sunday evening as the National Weather Service has issued Dense Fog Advisories for several counties until midnight.

Advisories have been issued for Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, St. Clair, Livingston, Lapeer, Genessee and Shiawassee Counties and the NWS says visibility can be less than a quarter mile in some locations.

Drivers are urged to slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Rain showers are expected to eventually return to the area, causing slow improvements to visibility later in the evening.
