DETROIT (WWJ) -- The search is on for a suspect who shot three people after a boxing match in Detroit late Saturday night.

Detroit police say the violence broke out just before midnight Saturday in the 18600 block of Grand River Avenue, just west of the Southfield Freeway. Three victims -- a 17-year-old female, a 19-year-old male and a man whose age was not known, were attending a boxing match when an unknown suspect fired shots following an argument, police said.

All of the victims was privately taken to a hospital and two were listed in temporary serious condition, while the John Doe male was listed as critical.

Police say they did not have any suspects in the shooting, as of Sunday morning and the investigation was still in the preliminary stages.

It was not clear what sparked the argument that led to violence, and it was unclear where exactly the boxing match took place.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Eighth Precinct Investigative Unit at 313-596-5840 or Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
