DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are asking for the public's help as they hunt for an alleged killer on the run.

Deandre Jarrell Houston, 29, is wanted in the armed robbery and fatal shooting of a 36-year-old man, early this year, in the 4300 block of Grayton in Detroit.

While it was initially believed that there were three men involved in the crime on Jan. 24, 2019, further investigation revealed that there were five, police said.

Four of the suspects are already in custody, while police continue to search for Houston.

He is described as a black male 6’1’' tall and around 200 lbs., with a medium complexion. He is known to wear his hair in dreadlocks, and has a tattoo of a star in the center of his neck with the number 87.

Police say he is gang affiliated and is considered armed and dangerous.

Houston faces the following charges: felony murder, armed robbery causing serious injury and felon in possession of a firearm.

Anyone who has seen this wanted man, knows of his whereabouts or who has any information that could help investigators is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP  (1-800-773-2587).  Tips may also be submitted by texting CSM and the tip to CRIMES (2746370).

As always, tipsters may stay 100 percent anonymous, will not be asked their names, to speak to police or to testify in court. A cash reward of up to $1,000 is available through Crime Stoppers if a tip leads to an arrest in this case.
