Detroit Woman Goes Missing After Suffering Stroke

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a 61-year-old woman who hasn't been seen since she suffered a stroke almost a month ago.

Elonda Gist was last seen around noon on Thursday, October 24 at her home in the 9000 block of Olivet, not far from Fort and Woodmere street on the city's southwest side.

Her family is especially concerned because she recently suffered a stroke, and has not been seen or heard from since. Gist is also said to be in poor physical condition and suffers from a mental illness. 

Gist, who goes by the nickname "Frankie," is described as a black female with a dark complexion, 5'3" tall and about 125 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. She wears false teeth and has a scar on her abdomen. She may be driving a black, four-door 2015 Volkswagon Jetta with Michigan license plate "DDM1942."
