FLINT (WWJ) -  A 27-year-old man has been charged in the murder and dismemberment of his own father, whose body was found in dumpster in Flint.

“This was a gruesome discovery and horrific crime scene,” said Genesse County Prosecutor David Leyton, announcing the case against Aron Scott Reeves II of Flint.

Tuesday morning, Flint police responded to reports of presumed human body parts discovered in plastic trash bags in a dumpster at a business on Davison Rd.,  between Averill Ave. and Center Rd.

When the Michigan State Police Crime Lab processed the scene, an entire human body was discovered in parts in several bags along with other key pieces of evidence, authorities said.

Leyton's office said evidence led police to a home on Tiptree Path in Flint where further evidence was found in trash bags on the curb. After police obtained a search warrant, still more evidence was allegedly found inside the suspect's home.

Reeves II was arrested and set to be arraigned in 67th District Court on two counts: Open Murder and Disinterment and Mutilation of a Dead Body.

Michigan Department of Corrections records show Reeves II has a criminal record, including convictions for delivery/manufacturing of narcotics and possession of methamphetamine.

Authorities did not immediately discuss a possible motive for the killing.
