Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Possible Sunday In Metro Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Forecasters are warning: Sunday's weather could get wet and wild in Metro Detroit.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are likely Sunday and Sunday night with heavy rainfall and localized flooding as the primary threats.

Showers and a few storms will spread over southeast Michigan in the morning before a break from the rain in the afternoon. Then, another round of showers and thunderstorms will arrive for the evening and persist overnight.

Forecasters say widespread rainfall amounts of 0.5 inch to 1.5 inches are expected. Some locations could also see up to or more than 2 inches.

Sunday -- Showers and a t-storm possible. High 83. Low 66.

Monday -- Partly sunny; not as warm. High 73. Low 55.

Tuesday -- Partly Sunny. High 74. Low 58.

Wednesday -- Increasing cloudiness; warm. High 78. Low 61.

Thursday -- Mostly sunny; pleasant. High 73.Low 57.

Friday -- A thunderstorm possible. High 77. Low 64.

Saturday -- Some sun, a t-storm in spots. High 76. Low 63.
