(WWJ) Detroit police say they rounded up dozens of teenagers after a social media post brought them downtown Wednesday night.

The teens, who were from the metro Detroit suburbs as well as the city, according to investigators — had responded to Instagram post that said: "Settle your beefs."

Police say that's code for fighting; and that's what it's alleged that the teens has gathered to do in an around Campus Martius Park. "Other people I talked to said it means to set the record straight," WWJ's Charlie Langton reported. "But, either way...there were some reports of fights that did occur."

A total of around 40 teens were detained, ticketed and then released to their parents, police said. Police told Langton they will be enforcing a 10 p.m. curfew for underage kids in the city.

The investigation, including into what exactly prompted the Instagram post, is still on going.

No serious injuries were reported.
