According to prosecutors, 46-year-old Allen James Abel and 40-year-old Kimberly Marie Davidson "created an unsafe sleep environment" for the child at their home in the 19300 block of Rensellor Street, in the area of 7 Mile and Inkster roads.

At around 5:15 p.m. on June 17, police and paramedics were called to the house on a report of an unresponsive infant. EMS took the child to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Both Abel and Davidson are charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Second Degree Child Abuse.

The mother turned herself in to police for an arraignment in 16th District Court Tuesday and received a $20,000/10% bond. Her next court date was set for Dec. 26. Prosecutors said the father is expected to be arraigned via video on Wednesday.

While Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy's office said it's believed the alleged unsafe environment resulted in the baby's death, details have not been released. Prosecutors said further facts and evidence of the case will be presented at the preliminary examination.
