(WWJ) Charges have been filed in connection with a shootout that left one person dead and two wounded at a West Bloomfield Township home.

Omar Alexander-Roman Coney, 47, is facing nine felony counts following the incident in an upscale neighborhood near 14 Mile Rd. and Halsted, early Wednesday morning.

Bond was set at $1.5 million, no 10%, at a video arraigned Friday in 48th District Court.

Coney was arrested while driving away from the scene on Chase Court, where police said one person, identified as a Warren resident, was found dead inside a house. A second person, identified as the homeowner, was found shot and wounded outside. Police said the homeowner since been released from the hospital.

Police said Coney, the second wounded person, was shot in the stomach.

He was charged by the Oakland County Prosecutors Office and arranged via video by the 48th District Court Friday on the following counts

•    Assault with Intent to Murder
•    Armed Robbery
•    Home Invasion 1st
•    Felon in Possession of Firearm
•    Carrying a Concealed Weapon
•    Felony Firearms (4 counts)

While many questions remain — such as how those involved were acquainted and what led to the shooting — Deputy Police Chief Curt Lawson said this was not a random crime, and residents shouldn't worry.

Police told WWJ's Charlie Langton they were still trying to piece together exactly what happened; and on Friday, police said that investigation was still ongoing.

No additional names have been released.
