DEARBORN (WWJ) - A new character is set to enter the Marvel Universe, and the new hero has a local connection.

Kamala Kahn, AKA Ms. Marvel, is going to be getting a hand from Fadi Fadlalah, also known as "Amulet," an Arab-American character from Dearborn.

Amulet was co-created by Detroit native Saladin Ahmed and Jordanian-American illustrator Sara Alfageeh.

Ahmed says Amulet is a fun, mysterious new character who will be playing a role in 'Magnificent Ms. Marvel' for months to come. He will make his debut in Magnificent Ms. Marvel #13, out in March 2020.

"We're keeping most of the details of him close to our chests, but I can tell you that his powers are magical in nature," Ahmed said in a statement.

Amulet joins Simon Baz, a Green Lantern from the DC Universe, who is also from Dearborn but is of Lebanese-American decent.
