MELVINDALE, Mich. (WWJ) -- The Melvindale-Northern Allen Park School District will be closed again on Wednesday following another school shooting threat.

The social media threat comes after the district was closed Monday and Tuesday due to threats against Melvindale High School and Strong Middle School.

The Melvindale Police Department said on its Facebook page Tuesday night they had been made aware of the possible threat and they were "using every and all resources available to determine the identity of those who are making the threats."

As of an 8 p.m. update, police said there would be school for all schools in the school district, but said in another update after 11 p.m. the district would be closed

A Facebook post shows a screenshot of a message between two students about a possible threat.

"The district values the safety of its students, personnel and the entire community above all else. As always, we will take any needed steps necessary to continue to ensure the safety of our community," Superintendent Kimberly Soranno said in a letter to parents outlining the threats on Sunday night.

Melvindale police asked for any tips from the public about the potential threats and said they will update their Facebook page with the latest information. The FBI is also involved in the investigation.

Families in the nearby Southgate Community School District received a recorded message Tuesday night, saying there is no threat to the district, but the superintendent did alert police as a precaution. Authorities are expected to investigate.
