Mercedes S-55 Sought In Deadly Hit-And-Run Crash

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for the driver of a Mercedes S-55 that fled the scene after being involved in a deadly crash in which two people were ejected from their vehicle.

The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. Friday at San Juan and W. Outer Drive, near Livernois and 7 Mile Road on the city's west side.

According to police, a white Mercedes S-55 was traveling west on W. Outer Dr. when the vehicle collided with a black Chevy Equinox that was traveling north on San Juan.

Two female passengers in the Equinox were ejected from the vehicle. One was fatally injured and declared dead at the scene. The other, age 50, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Equinox, a 31-year-old man, and a fourth passenger, a 36-year-old man, were also taken to the hospital and last reported in temporary-serious condition. 

The unknown driver of the Mercedes fled the scene and remains at large. No description was provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
