WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. (WWJ) -- Police are reminding the public to keep their cars locked after a rash of larcenies from vehicles over the weekend.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says there were multiple thefts from unlocked cars that happened some time between Friday morning and Sunday night, most of which happened in various nearby locations in Superior Township.

The sheriff's office says multiple residents in Superior Township reported they had various items -- including clothes, a backpack, loose change and personal items -- stolen from their vehicles in the 1900 block of White Oak Lane between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

There were also multiple reports of stolen items in the 1600 and 1700 blocks of Cardiff Row the same night between 8 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Stolen items included a backpack, laptop, books and loose change as well as various other personal items.

There were also reports of stolen jewelry in the 1900 block of Spruce Lane and stolen loose change in the 9600 block of Wexford drive.

All four of those locations are in neighborhoods next to each other. In each case, the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction and police were unable to provide a description of the suspects.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says multiple residents of Ann Arbor Township reported their catalytic converters were stolen some time between 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. Both cars were parked in the 200 and 300 blocks of Village Green Boulevard.

The sheriff's office is reminding residents to "lock it or lose it."

"The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office strongly encourages residents, visitors, citizens and students to lock their vehicles in order to prevent theft," they said in a statement.

Anyone who has any information pertaining to these incidents is asked to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office's Confidential Tip line at (734) 973-7711 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
