Pair Of Purse Snatchings Reported On Wayne State Campus

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wayne State University police are alerting the community following a pair of purse snatching incidents on campus.

It happened in the Midtown area along Prentis near 2nd Avenue last Tuesday and then again on Sunday. In both cases, the victims say the suspect knocked them down and took their belongings. 

One woman told police she was leaving a Jet's Pizza when she was attacked, while the other woman said she was trying to get into her apartment. Neither woman was seriously injured.

Investigators are now looking for surveillance footage from nearby businesses to identify the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact WSU Police at 313-577-2222.
