Pedestrian Hit, Killed While Crossing Telegraph Road

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A pedestrian was hit by a car a killed while crossing Telegraph Road in Southfield. 

The crash happened Tuesday night, according to police, south of I-696 near a Starbucks.

Police did not release the victim's name, describing him only as an elderly man. 

The driver who hit the man stopped at the scene and called police. It's unclear at this time if any charges are possible, as the investigation continues.

This was the second fatal crash involving a pedestrian in the same day.

Earlier Tuesday, a woman was killed in a hit-and-run in a construction zone on 10 Mile Road, east of Evergreen. Police are still looking for the driver involved in that deadly accident. There is no description of the suspect vehicle at this time.
