Police Searching For Shooter In Black Ford Explorer In Death Of 19-Year-Old Woman

(WWJ) Detroit police are asking for tips as they search for suspects in the shooting death of young woman — in an apparent case of road rage. 

According to investigators, the 19-year old victim was riding in a car with her family on Joy Road near Oakman, late Friday night, when the driver unintentionally caught off an SUV.

Police said the SUV then pulled alongside the car, and someone inside fired several shots, striking the teen. 

She was taken the a local hospital where she died of her injuries. 

The SUV police are looking for is described as newer-model black Ford Explorer with a license or vanity plate on the front.

Police released a pair of surveillance images of the vehicle on Thursday, hoping someone in the public can identify it.

There has been no description provided of the shooter.
