LIVONIA, Mich. (WWJ) -- A woman from Ypsilanti is in trouble with the law -- and likely on the "naughty list" -- after she was caught on camera stealing an inflatable snowman Christmas decoration and other items from a hardware store in Livonia.

The Livonia Police Department says they recently identified the woman after she was seen on surveillance camera stealing the items from Hunt's Ace Hardware on 7 Mile Road near Farmington Road around 10:40 a.m. on Dec. 3.

Police say the woman, whose name has not been released, took the inflatable snowman decoration, as well as several other items, and shoved them in her purse. She then left the store without making a purchase.

When investigators identified the woman and went to her residence in Ypsilanti, the snowman was sitting on her front porch.

Police say the woman was not home at that time, but the family was cooperative with investigators and the items were recovered.

Investigators have submitted a warrant request to the city's law department, seeking retail fraud charges.

The Livonia Police Department posted the surveillance video to Facebook, hilariously set to the Christmas classic "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."
