BATTLE CREEK (WWJ) - President Donald Trump is planning a visit to Battle Creek, Michigan, for a "Merry Christmas Rally."

The stumping stop — on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 — will be the second visit by the president to the state this year.

Michigan was one of a handful of states considered key to Trump's 2016 victory, and crucial again in 2020.

"It is incredibly exciting that President Trump has decided to once again visit Michigan," said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox, in a statement.

"Over his three years as President, Donald Trump has stood up for the people of our state. While Democrats play partisan political games in Washington, President Trump is fighting for Michigan's workers and farmers who have too long been hurt by failed trade policies. I can't wait to welcome him to Battle Creek."

Trump is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. at Kellogg Arena, 1 McCamly Square in Battle Creek.

The event will be open to the public. Those interested in attending may register for up two tickets per mobile phone number. Tickets will be honored on first come, first serve basis.
