Police Investigate Several Thefts At L.A. Fitness In Royal Oak

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Royal Oak Police are investigating several thefts from lockers and vehicles at L.A. Fitness.  

The crimes took place between October 17 and October 23 at the gym, located on Woodward Avenue just north of 10 Mile Road. 

Windows were broken during three car burglaries and two lockers were also broken into. Both of the lockers were in the men's room. 

Police believe the thefts are connected. Investigators are looking over any available surveillance video but so far haven't identified a suspect. 

The following larcenies were reported from the gym itself and vehicles in its parking lot:

  • 10-17-19, 6:45 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.: Complainant reports unknown suspect broke his front window of his vehicle and stole his gym bag and wallet.
  • 10-23-19, 7:00 a.m. – 7:50 a.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect broke the rear passenger window of her vehicle and stole her briefcase and bag.
  • 10-23-19, 6:30 a.m. – 7:15 a.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect broke the rear passenger window of his vehicle and stole his briefcase containing an Apple IWatch, iPad, iPhone and his wallet with cash.
  • 10-19-19, 5:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect broke into his gym locker and stole his wallet.
  • 10-22-19, 7:00 p.m. – 8:55 p.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect broke into his gym locker and stole his wallet.
