Metro Detroit Could See Severe Storms, Isolated Tornadoes Tuesday Night

DETROIT (WWJ) - We'll be keeping our eye on the sky Tuesday as storms this evening could produce severe weather, possibly even a tornado. 

Forecasters say numerous strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours ahead of strong cold front.

The best chance for severe thunderstorms will be from 5 p.m. through about midnight, according to the National Weather Service. Hail in excess of one inch, damaging winds of 60 mph or greater and isolated tornadoes are all possible.

Here's a look at the local forecast from the WWJ Weather Team:

Tuesday -- Some sun, a couple of strong t-storms in the p.m.; thunderstorms can bring hail and damaging winds. High 81. Low 62.

Wednesday -- Times of clouds and sun; not as warm with lower humidity. High 71. Low 52.

Thursday -- Mostly sunny; pleasant. High 72. Low 55.

Friday -- Partly sunny, a passing shower. High 73. Low 59.

Saturday -- Times of clouds and sun. High 76. Low 55.
