(WWJ) Did you drop something? Maybe something valuable?

Police in Macomb County's Shelby Township reached out on social media Thursday, hoping to reunite the owner with "something" he or she dropped in a shopping center parking lot last week.

The unnamed item was found on Thursday, Jan. 30, in the parking lot of the Marshalls & Homegoods store at Hall Rd. and Schoenherr Rd.

"Maybe it fell out of your purse or pocket when you got out of your car? An honest citizen turned it in to us," the department wrote on Facebook.

Police did not offer any information, or even a hint, as to what the item is.

If the dropped "something" belongs to you, and you can describe it, call Det. Chris Killop at 586-731-2121 ext. 305 to identify and claim it.

(Editor's Note: While police said the item was dropped outside TJ Maxx, the TJ Maxx at that location closed some time ago, replaced by the similar Marshalls & HomeGoods store.)
