TRENTON, Mich. (WWJ) -- Residents in Trenton are upset after a Wayne County snow plow did some damage following the weekend snow storm.

As some areas Downriver saw roughly seven inches of snowfall Saturday morning, plows were out in full force, and one area in Trenton along Fort Street saw fences destroyed from the weight of the snow. As temperatures rose shortly after the heavy snow, it became thick and wet, making it a heavy mix.

When the plow drove down Fort, the snow was thrown from the road and into the fences, causing extensive property damage in some areas.

WWJ's Charlie Langton captured some of that damage, near Edison Street.

The Wayne County Department of Public Services has admitted the damage was caused by the plow and is now helping effected residents through the process of filing claims for these incidents. The department has said the damages were "unavoidable," due to the weight of the snow.

Residents can make claims at 1-888-ROAD-CREW.
