The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says 48-year-old Chirin Kudeimati is scheduled to be arraigned in 36th District Court Friday in connection with the alleged hit-and-run Wednesday afternoon in Detroit

According to investigators, 40-year-old Najla Mateen, II, of Detroit, was crossing Telegraph Rd. in the crosswalk at W. McNichol's Rd., near the Redford border, when she was struck by Kudeimati's SUV.  It's alleged that Kudeimati disregarded a red light, continuing northbound on Telegraph and fleeing the scene.

Mateen was pronounced dead by EMS as police searched for the wanted driver.

Kudeimati was tracked down and arrested later in the day.

She is charged with Reckless Driving Causing Death, and Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Causing Death.
