While checking out the van this morning, he noticed an apparent bullet hole.

The driver told police he wasn't aware of any incident on the freeway.

While detectives are collecting evidence, State Police say it is possible the bullet came from the neighborhood along the freeway. The investigation is ongoing.

No injuries were reported.

There have been more than a dozen shootings on Detroit-area freeways since mid-June. While none of them were believed to be related, police said a majority started with some type of traffic altercation.

Two people have died, two people were arrested after shootings on I-94 and I-96 last week, and a couple of suspects remain at large.

Early Monday evening, troopers shut down a stretch of southbound I-75 to investigate after two men got into a dispute in a construction zone during rush hour. Eventually, police said, the suspect pulled next to the victim’s car and fired a single shot from a handgun. The victim was not injured, and the shooter got away.
