LAKE ORION (WWJ) - A 56-year-old Macomb County man died over the weekend after loading a boat onto a trailer in Oakland County.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies and EMS responded to the scene just before noon Saturday at the Lake Orion DNR Access Site, on Indianwood Rd. near Lakeshore Dr., on a report of a man lying face down in the grass, unresponsive and having difficulty breathing.

The person who'd called 9-1-1 said he'd been helping a Sterling Heights man load his boat onto his trailer, and then later saw the man fall to the ground.

Paramedics provided life saving measures but were unable to resuscitate the victim who was taken to McLaren-Oakland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators found no signs of trauma or foul play, according to sheriff's officials. The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy.

The victim's name has not been released as the investigation continues.
