Robbery Suspect Hid Inside Victim's Car Before Deadly Double Shooting

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police in Detroit are searching for a gunman who hid inside a victim's vehicle before ambushing him and another man during an attempted robbery that left one dead. 

The incident happened around 7:25 p.m Friday in the 1000 block of W. McNichols, just west of Woodward Avenue on the city's west side. 

Police say the two victims, ages 28 and 25, were approaching one of their vehicles when the suspect suddenly emerged from the car and attempted to rob them at gunpoint.

During the incident, both victims were shot. The older victim was fatally wounded. The younger victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, though his condition is unknown. 

After the shooting the suspect fled the scene in a dark color SUV, possibly a black Dodge Durango.

Circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
