Suspect Sought For Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash On Detroit's West Side

A 31-year-old man was killed near Wyoming and Pilgrim.

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the driver of an SUV that struck and killed a man on the city's west side earlier this month.

Authorities say just before 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, a 31-year-old man was walking in the area of Wyoming Avenue and Pilgrim Street -- near the John C. Lodge Freeway and Puritan Avenue -- when he was struck by a light colored Buick SUV.

Police say the Buick was headed southbound on Wyoming and did not stop at the scene after striking the the victim.

The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene when medical personnel arrived.

The vehicle is described as a light color Buick SUV and police released a surveillance image of it in hopes someone will be able to identify the vehicle and its driver.
