Suspect With Missing Teeth Wanted In Critical Stabbing

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for a suspect who stabbed another man nearly to death during an altercation on Detroit's west side. 

The incident unfolded around 7 p.m. Thursday in the 8600 block of Birwood, off Joy Road west of Wyoming Avenue.

According to police, the 46-year-old victim was involved in an altercation with the suspect, also 46. During the fight, police say the suspect stabbed the victim then fled the scene. 

The victim was taken to a hospital and was last reported in critical condition. 

The suspect, who police say is known, is described a black male with a dark complexion and missing teeth. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. He should be considered armed and dangerous. 

Circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
