Teen Who Escaped From Police May Still Be Wearing Handcuffs

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are searching for a 16-year-old boy who managed to escape from police custody in Detroit, all while still wearing handcuffs.

Police say Chas Taylor was taken into custody Tuesday morning for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting and obstructing an officer from an incident that occurred in 1900 block of Ewald Circle. 

Taylor was handcuffed, detained and transported to the 10th precinct, on Livernois and Elmhurst near I-96.

While at the precinct, police say Taylor fled from officers and was able to move his handcuffs from the rear to the front. 

Taylor was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt and shorts. He may be still have handcuffs on his wrists.
