Victims Of Deadly Plane Crash At Livingston County Airport Identified

HOWELL (WWJ) - Authorities have released the names of two people who were killed in a plane crash at the Livingston County Airport in Howell. 

The victims are identified as 68-year-old James Tafralian, of Webberville, and 64-year-old Philip Henry Colmer, of Chelsea.

The men died around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when the single-engine Aero Commander M200 aircraft crashed at Spencer J. Hardy Airport

Authorities have given conflicting accounts of circumstances surrounding the crash. Police said the plane went down as it was landing, while the Federal Aviation Administration said the plane was taking off when it crashed.

The crash remains under investigation, which could take up to a year or more to complete. The National Transportation Safety Board is the lead investigative agency on the case. Updates will be posted at
