(WWJ) A deputy with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department has been charged with sexual assaulting three women while he was in college.

Deputy D'Angelo McWilliams is accused of raping the alleged victims during his time at Eastern Michigan University, beginning in 2016, according to authorities. One of the alleged victims is a former girlfriend, who has also accused McWilliams of domestic assault.  The address where the alleged assaults took place is connected with the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, according to the EMU chapter’s Facebook page.

Washtenaw County Sheriff Derrick Jackson told WWJ's Sandra McNeill that while he cannot discuss specifics of the case: "What we can say for the deputy in question, we have placed that individual off on administrative leave without pay, pending the outcome of some of the investigations that are going on," Jackson said. "We'll able to make more statements as the case unfolds and we get some more information ourselves. "

McWilliams, 24, was arraigned on the charges on Wednesday, and released from custody after posting a $5,000 personal bond.

McWilliams was ordered to have no contact with 23-year-old EMU graduate Dustin Durbin, a friend of McWilliams who was charged last month with assaulting at least eight women at another fraturney, Alpha Sigma Phi.

Jackson said his department, meanwhile, has opened its own internal investigation.

"We are just becoming aware of it," the sheriff added. "So (we're) just taking out time and doing our due diligence before we make some decisions "
