PONTIAC (WWJ) - Have you been pulled over recently by someone impersonating police?

If so, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard would like to hear from you.

Bouchard says he was driving down M-59 near Telegraph Road, near the border of Pontiac and Waterford, after leaving a meeting this week when he saw what looked like a fully decked out police SUV with lights and decals -- except one of the decals didn't look quite right.

After running the license plate, Bouchard realized it was actually not a real police vehicle and he pulled the driver over for questioning. The driver reportedly rolled down his window and said "Who are you?" to which Bouchard replied "I'm the sheriff. Who are you?"

Bouchard said that gear inside the car looked real, but some of it was fake. He also discovered a loaded gun and a large knife.

The driver was arrested and booked at the Oakland County Jail pending charges.

Bouchard said anyone who thinks they may have been stopped by this impostor officer should call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office at 248-858-5000.
