ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - One Oakland County woman is recovering and another is jailed following a vicious sexual assault.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call early Tuesday at the Lake Village Apartment Complex in Rochester Hills, from a resident who heard fighting in the apartment above, and a person moaning and calling for help.

In the apartment deputies found a disturbing scene: Two women covered in blood on the floor of the master bedroom.

"And the suspect was over the victim, mostly nude; as was the victim," said Undersheriff Mike McCabe. "They were both covered in blood. The victim was on the floor, had a piece of her ear bitten off, a piece of her cheek bitten off, and ultimately a damaged orbital bone."

The victim, who had numerous bite marks on her face, told deputies she'd invited the suspect, a former neighbor, over for drinks.

When the suspect made sexual advances, she refused.

"The last thing she remembers is going to bed," McCabe said, "and then waking up with the suspect over her, chewing on her face, threatening to kill her and strangling her."

The victim, a 48-year-old Rochester Hills woman. was "bleeding heavily," officials said. She was stabilized at the scene and taken to Ascension-Providence Rochester Hospital for further medical attention.

Police say the suspect, a 44-year-old Rochester Hills woman, was on an unknown mix of drugs and alcohol. She was also taken to a hospital for an evaluation and detox before being transferred to the Oakland County Jail to await charges.

The suspect's name was not immediately released as the investigation continuities.
