Woman In Custody After 28-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot In Clinton Township Apartment

The victim and suspect had an apparent domestic relationship.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) -- A woman is in custody after allegedly shooting a 28-year-old man to death in Clinton Township late Sunday night.

Clinton Township police tell WWJ they were called to an apartment on South Grange near 16 Mile and Harper around 10 p.m. Sunday on the report of a shooting. 

When officers showed up, they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was taken to McLaren Macomb Hospital, where he died.

A 27-year-old woman was taken into custody and is being held at the Clinton Township Police lockup.

Clinton Township police Cpt. Richard Meierle tells WWJ the woman and the victim lived together and appeared to have a domestic relationship.

Police did not say what may have led to the shooting. An investigation is still ongoing.
